UK Electronics Alliance launches skills signposting site
27/01/2010 Email to a friend

Using the opportunity provided by its second annual conference on skills, the UK Electronics Alliance (UKEA) has launched www.electronicsskillsmap.com, designed to provide clearer signposting to skills provision in the UK.

UK Electronics Alliance launches skills signposting site"When it comes to skills provision, the number of organisations involved can seem bewildering," said Alliance executive Roger Rogowski, pictured, "as can the number of schemes and activities."
Although a resource is already available in the form of talentmap, this was seen as being not focused enough for the electronics industry. "Talentmap is looking at all industries," Rogowski noted, "and didn't fit with what we are trying to do. So we have launched our own tool."
The site, which should be fully operational by mid February, will have five elements: awards; young people; developing the workforce; collaborating with universities; and recruitment.
