A $40million four sided, high definition video board at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium in Arlington incorporates 22,000 TDK Lambda ZWS power supplies to light the 25million LEDs needed to create the on screen images.
The Diamond Vision video board was built by Mitsubishi Electric and hangs from a retractable roof in the recently opened $1.1billion stadium. It has four panels which weigh 600,000kg and is suspended approximately 30metres above midfield. At 21.76 x 48.32m, it has just been recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest high definition video screen.
David Norton, vice president of marketing at TDK-Lambda Americas, said: "For high profile installations such as these, the display manufacturer wanted a reliable, quality product to power its LEDs. That's why they chose ZWS power supplies from TDK Lambda."
The world's highest resolution LED display, located at the Yankee Stadium, New York, incorporates 8590 ZWS power supplies to power the 8.5m LEDs used to render the image onto the screen.
