Expanding on its line of 3U PXI dynamic digital I/O cards, Geotest now offers a user configurable fpga 3U PXI card that features 160 digital I/O signals for specific application needs.
The new GX3500 employs the Altera Cyclone III fpga that, according to Geotest, supports clock rates up to 150MHz and features over 55,000 logic elements.
Loofie Gutterman, president of Geotest, explains: "The GX3500 supports expansion card assemblies (daughter cards) that can be used to customise the interface to the UUT, eliminating the requirement for bulky add on boards that normally reside outside of the module. Additionally, unlike other fpga cards, the GX3500 does not require proprietary design tools. Customers can use Altera's free, Web-based Quartas II design tools, which provides a very cost effective and high performance fpga based solution for end users."
Also included in the GX3500's software bundle is a virtual panel designed to help facilitate interactive design, debug, and deployment of the module.
