SiTime has announced what it calls the 'industry's first' emi reducing differential oscillator for PCI Express and fully buffered dimm applications.
The mems based silicon timing solution specialist says the SiT9002AI oscillator is suitable for high volume applications such as pcs, servers, multiservice access platforms and high end graphics cards. Such applications can use the oscillator to provide clocks for PCI Express or fb dimm which are said to reduce emi.
The oscillator's differential outputs are configured to comply with the high speed current steering logic specification and, according to SiTime, its 0.5% down spread spectrum technology allows designers to reduce emi by up to 16dB. Offering an 'industry best' cycle-cycle jitter of 16ps, the oscillator offers a total frequency stability of ±50 ppm over the industrial temperature range (-40 to 85°C).
Piyush Sevalia (pictured), SiTime's vice president of marketing, said: "The 100 and 200MHz SiT9002AI oscillators are flexible timing solutions for PCI Express or fb dimm in networking, storage and computing applications."
