Analogue port increases functionality of VM-1 controller
February 2009 Email to a friend

An analogue I/O port from Micro-Robotics allows the VM-1, the company’s credit card sized embedded control computer, to read eight analogue inputs and generate two analogue outputs at 12bit resolution.

Analogue port increases functionality of VM 1 controllerIt also allows one analogue input to be read at a resolution of 18bits with differential inputs. The boards can be daisy chained to increase the number of I/O ports.
The analogue I/O port plugs directly into the I2C connector on Micro-Robotics application boards and is supplied with an I2C cable and additional connectors. The 18bit ADC can be programmed for different input resolutions, and the whole board can be operated at 3 or 5v. A prototyping area is provided in the form of an uncommitted array on 2.54mm pitch.
The introduction of this new I/O board further enhances the flexibility that, along with the rest of the Micro-Robotics product line, enables users to rapidly develop and implement cost effective, ultra-low power control systems.
