ON Semi makes another acquisition 17/07/2008
 
asic, power, memory, dc/dc conversion ON Semiconductor is buying Catalyst Semiconductor in a deal which values the latter at $115million.
“Catalyst’s eeprom technology will strengthen our asic and power products capabilities, expanding our ability to address our customers’ needs more comprehensively,” said Keith Jackson, pictured, ON Semiconductor president and CEO.
“With the combination of ON Semi’s global footprint, effective channels of distribution and top tier customer relationships, we expect to be able to support a broader and deeper penetration of Catalyst’s product portfolio.”
Catalyst develops analogue, mixed signal and non volatile memory products, including digitally programmable potentiometers, LED drivers, dc/dc converters, eeproms, flash and nvram.
