Garmin chooses ST SoC

Garmin is to use the Cartesio SoC from STMicroelectronics inside several of its new products.

Garmin chooses ST SoC In particular, Garmin will integrate the Cartesio processor in a range of navigation systems, including the new nüvi 205.
Cartesio integrates a 32bit ARM cpu core with a 32channel GPS subsystem and a set of connectivity peripherals. It also features high speed ram and real time clock functionality. Housed in 16 x 16 x 1.4mm lfbga, the part has a 0.8mm ball pitch to comply with the automotive industry assembly requirements.
