Consolidation, Distribution, Mergers, Acquisitions Just like Monopoly, the component distribution industry plays out round after round of acquisitions, consolidations and mergers. The only difference is the players don’t use dice and they play with real money.
Consolidation has become an increasing trend as large global corporations look to broaden their market presence by snapping up smaller, independent specialists. What’s in it for the big guy, and will it help the small guy to gain a foothold in previously inaccessible markets? And when the deal is done, what kind of service can the end customer expect?
