Cube to be shown at CES 17/12/2007

internet radio Cambridge Consultants will be demonstrating the Cube radio at the forthcoming CES show in Las Vegas. Cube is based on the Iona platform shown at this year’s event.
Cube is a WiFi enabled internet radio which can be personalised by the listener. According to research, the average person listens to between three to four radio stations regularly and Cube has been designed with this in mind. By turning Cube onto one of its four available sides, it will change to the desired radio station. A fifth side houses the speaker and the remaining side switches the radio the off.
According to Cambridge Consultants, even the volume button has been removed: instead, the listener twists the Cube to the right to increase the volume and to the left to decrease it.
Duncan Smith, head of consumer products at Cambridge Consultants, said: “The Cube concept is so easy and fun to use that it is infectious. Consumers won’t have to scroll through endless lists of stations to find their favourites, they just have to flip the radio. It epitomises convenience and is so simple and intuitive that everyone will be able to use it.”
