Axis Electronics has invested around £500,000 in a new surface mount line as part of a major capital investment programme. Key stages consist of MYDATA MY12 and MY9 SMT placement machines and the latest utravision automated inspection equipment.
Managing director Phil Inness (right in picture) said: “To manufacture successfully in the UK, we have to aim to be the best and investing in this equipment is helping us reach that ever more challenging target. We must excel in every one of the key areas of quality, service, value and flexibility and the new line, is making a big contribution.
“This equipment is helping guarantee the quality of our products and improved placement capability and changeover times means faster response times whilst maintaining competitive pricing. And, because the line can handle almost any type of component with ease, we now have much more flexibility to work with the latest component package types – 01005s, for example.”
