TI unveils fastest monolithic 14bit adc
10/08/2007 Email to a friend

Said to be the fastest monolithic 14bit a/d converter, the ADS5474 from Texas Instruments runs at 400Msample/s, with an effective number of bits of 11.1. The device is said to lend itself to high bandwidth applications, such as test and measurement instrumentation, software defined radio, radar and communication instrumentation, that were previously confined to lesser resolution devices.

TI unveils fastest monolithic 14bit adc
Manufactured on TI's BiCom3 process, the ADS5474 has an on chip buffer amplifier to ease analogue front end design. Pin for pin compatible with the ADS5463 – a 12bit, 500Msample/s part – the data converter is said to provide an easy design path across multiple systems.
