Embedded test, Programmable logic , Multicore, TRIPS (Tera op, Reliable, Intelligently adaptive Processing), Field programmable object array (fpoa), Data parallel unit (dpu) , Virtual instruments , Time sigma-delta a/d conversion technology Just like the Olympic Games’ motto – faster, higher, stronger – embedded systems designers could use something like ‘smaller, faster, cheaper’ on their coat of arms – translated into Latin, of course.
There’s a range of technology helping the embedded system designer achieve those goals, but microcontrollers and, increasingly, programmable logic are the lead enablers.
