High speed a/d converter, Spurious free dynamic range (SFDR), 'All digital' receiver, Buffer amplifier The ideal digital receiver signal processing chain is an antenna, filter, low noise amplifier and an a/d converter, followed by digital demodulation and signal processing. Whilst this may be some years off, communications receivers have steadily eliminated frequency conversion stages, whilst placing greater importance on the front end a/d converter.
